Far Cry 4 is an open-world, multi-platform first-person shooter video game released in May 2014.

The developers have collected all the interesting things that were in the previous parts of Far Cry and combined in the last released part, it turned out pretty well. Moreover, the creators again managed to make the shooting in the game interesting, but making it clear that killing is bad.

According to the plot of Far Cry 4, the hero will go to the Himalayas (the fictional city of Kirat) to fulfill the last will of his mother and scatter her ashes in their native places. Many years ago, a civil war raged in the area between the population and the nationalists. With the help of the betrayal of one of the soldiers, the nationalists manage to win, but soon the traitor (Ming) kills the king’s heir and becomes the ruler himself.

A “Golden Way” movement is created against him and everything goes well until the head is killed, and his wife and son have to flee to the United States. After arriving, the hero learns that he is being hunted and all that remains is to arm himself and try to survive in the conditions of the newly flared up war. All the events of the game converge on the choice between several people who dream of becoming the new rulers and have their own justified goals.

• The world has become even bigger and more interesting, literally at every step there are various events, and getting to the next mission will not be so easy. The roads are extremely dangerous and difficult, one wrong move and you can easily find yourself flying off a cliff. Climbing has also undergone changes, now you often have to use a “cat”, but you can attach it only to certain points on the stone, which will force the player to run near one stone for a long time, trying to find a weak spot.
• There are a lot of side quests that do not seem so dull and do not always fit into the old style of “run, find or kill, run.” Often the character will find himself in a showdown of militants and rebels, clear posts, look for treasures and much more. There are so many side quests that you can often forget about the ongoing war and your main goal.
• A large number of predatory animals makes the game even more interesting, often when you come to clear the post, you will simply find a couple of dozen corpses torn apart by wolves. You can also use bait to set a couple of predators on the enemy squad, and walk and finish off the survivors yourself.
• There are two alternative endings in Far Cry 4, each requiring a specific action to open. Also, at every step, the character will be given a choice (kill or keep alive), but this will not affect the final end in any way, except for the choice for a couple of important persons.
• New means of transportation have appeared: a car, a gyrocopter, a light truck and a live elephant. While riding, you can now fire at enemies, and repair tools are always in the character’s inventory.

If you are hoping to take part in another exciting adventure, then you will be disappointed. The storyline in Far Cry 4 is written much weaker than in the previous part. If in Far Cry 3 we were shown the process of becoming Jason Brodie as a person. He has turned from an ordinary teenager into an inveterate thug and villain. In the end, of course, you can take the side of good, but the negative residue will still remain. In Far Cry 4, the personality of Ajay Gale was shown to us mediocre, and it does not cause any negative emotions.

Ubisoft’s main villains turn out to be colorful and shocking, nothing can be done about it. They even try to present Pagan Ming from a twofold side. On the one hand, he is a formidable dictator, a “white death” merchant who tyrannizes the whole of Kirat, and on the other, he is a practical and reasonable person who talks to us on the radio in a friendly way, and, in addition, a secret admirer of Ajay Gale’s mother. From such an ambiguous narrative, at the end of the game, you can decide for a long time what to do with Pagan Min: he, flying in a helicopter, send him to the forefathers or leave him alone.

Far Cry 4’s writers will present you with a choice not only in relation to the main villain, but also to the leaders of the rebel movement called the Golden Path. The resistance, after the death of Gale’s father, has two differently minded leaders. On the one hand, at the helm is a young man, Sabal, who respects the traditions and values ​​of the country, and on the other, a pretty lady named Amita, who is ready to step over any moral principles in order to achieve a goal. You will have to rush between rock and hard place in choosing the right solution, because the arguments of each of them sound very convincing. For example, in one of the missions, Sabal will ask you to save the captured people, and Amita will consider that the extraction of intelligence is a higher priority.

Over time, one can understand that the path of Sabal leads Kirat into the impoverished abyss of the third world countries, and Amita more and more begins to resemble the hated Peygan Min. On a mission, when Sabal wanted to burn the opium field, Amita, in turn, decided to seize the field to further spread the drugs.

At the end of Far Cry 4, Pagan Min will look less villainous than the others.

Kirat is a relatively large and beautiful tropical island, but the developers were apparently afraid that we would be bored, and really oversaturated it with events. So it will not be possible to take a step without a radio notification about another shootout or an attack by predators.

There are more towers and outposts, by capturing which we will be able to make fast movements. True, there are a couple of good tools in the game for moving around the map: a mini helicopter and a hang-glider and a wing suit. So, if helicopters and hang gliders are located in certain places, then the wingsuit can be used at any time.

Far Cry 4 has added a feature that has recently become popular in modern games. Ajay Gale has the opportunity to rebuild his parents’ house, which eventually turns into a kind of base, with a helipad, and a vegetable garden.

Fundamentally, compared to Far Cry 3, nothing has changed: the skill system, the basics of potions, collecting herbs and freshly made animal skins and many, many noisy, but very exciting shootings. True, we are given the opportunity to test our strength in the arena, where very exciting battles take place, both against people and against animals.
