Tell me, have you ever thought about the existence of parallel worlds? That somewhere where no one bothered you, or where you once made the right choice (invested in “that” company, “grabbed” something, answered a letter of happiness… but you never know!), You, maybe you run an entire country… well, or at least a flying city? Have you ever wondered where people can be led by their eternal thirst for discovery? Then – welcome to a new utopia, in which, like in the city of Rapture from the past parts of Bioshok, something went awry. Now this city is by no means as happy and serene as it was originally intended…

Reminds of something, doesn’t it? Let’s be condescending: if the developers of BioShock Infinite are so interested in the topic of dystopia, let them continue to develop it. After all, they do it very well.

Yes, the new city of Columbia (although it is not underwater, but flying) is very similar to Rapture. But from a player’s point of view, Colombia is much better because there is so much more. What more could you want from a shooter? A whole bag of enemies? Please: almost the whole city is against you. Who is to blame for this? No, we will not answer this question, we will not spoil the pleasure.

So, the old tale is told in a new way: we have another main character, a very interesting character… The whole game is built on his story, slowly unfolding before your eyes, and it is worth noting that this topic (the story of one life) has been solved in a very, very nontrivial way… Yes, this is one destiny, but it is split into many realities. In general, parallel realities are one of the main themes of the new BioShock Infinite. In one of these realities, you will even find yourself in good old Rapture – but mostly you will travel through the present, past, future, as well as various “maybe” and “probably” of the main character. Already interesting, isn’t it? If you are waiting for an unusual, even a little confusing plot that will not immediately reveal all its cards in front of you, this game is for you. Here you can not only shoot and cast a high-tech analogue of a fireball – here you can think and speculate about grief and joy, about such a difficult life and the fate of humanity as a whole.

And also about why all Bioshok’s utopias turn into dystopias!

BioShock Infinite is certainly no ordinary shooter. As already noted, the game has “RPG elements”, and, you can say, she took the best from the RPG. Throughout the game you will have the opportunity to “pump” the character and improve his weapons. Well, an interesting plot, depth of experience of the main character, graphics and well-chosen background turn BioShock Infinite into a real work of computer art. So it is no coincidence that this game won three awards at the Electronic Entertainment Exhibition 2011 (E3 2011). We can say that our verdict – “a memorable, original and high-quality game” – is not only our opinion, and even not just an opinion, but, perhaps, the pure truth.
