Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare for Windows

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is a game in the popular Call of Duty first-person shooter series. Unlike the previous parts of the series, the setting here is made in a fantastic style.

Story

In Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, the story is about events in space. In the near future, the Earth ran out of minerals, and sources of alternative energy could not meet the needs of mankind. A group of volunteers was assembled to search for the necessary resources on other objects in the solar system. Over time, people started mining on other planets and the number of workers increased greatly.

Some time later, a terrorist movement called the Colonies Defense Front appears on Mars. The purpose of the movement is to capture all the mined resources in the solar system.

In 2080, a squad of terrestrial SCAR fighters is sent to the satellite of Jupiter – Europe, one of which is the player. Their goal is to investigate the cause of the loss of communication with the base located on the planet. Arriving at the scene, the fighters learn that the base has been captured by terrorists. SCAR decide to destroy the base together with the enemies, which they successfully cope with. However, the terrorists managed to find out about their plan and sent a request for reinforcements. SCAR are trapped.

In general, the campaign scenario is executed at the level. You shouldn’t expect any sudden plot twists, but it’s still an interesting sight, like Hollywood blockbusters.

Gameplay

COD IW is a first person shooter. The main difference between the gameplay and the previous parts is the new mechanics associated with the space environment. The playable character has a jetpack and a grappling cat – a hook that allows you to cling to protruding surfaces. With the help of these devices, the player can move around in an airless space, which makes playing Call of Duty Infinite Warfare especially enjoyable.

In the story campaign there is an episode with the control of a futuristic spaceship called “Jackal”. The control of “Jackal” is non-linear, unlike some episodes with controlled vehicles in the previous parts. The player has complete control over the ship.

In Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, missions are selected on a local computer called “Retribution”. Side missions are optional, but they do reveal additional plot details. Part of the tasks is devoted to collecting new components for the “Jackal”, which improve the ship and make the further passage of the main game easier.

Call of Duty Infinite Warfare takes about 12 hours to complete. On standard difficulty, there are no problems with the passage – ground missions are linear and generously filled with checkpoints. The only advice during the passage is to play carefully so as not to die in similar game situations.

For hardcore fans, there are 2 additional difficulties:

• Specialist. With this difficulty, the player’s health is not automatically restored, for this you need to use nano-injections. The player can drop his weapon if he is shot in the hand. If the leg is injured, the character will limp.
• YOLO. This difficulty copies the “Specialist”, but with one difference – after the death of the character, the game starts from the very beginning, no checkpoints.

Multiplayer

Unfortunately, in Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, you cannot play the main campaign together. But otherwise the multiplayer is still good.

The class system was taken from Black Ops III and slightly improved. There are 6 character classes in total in multiplayer:

1. Fighter;
2. Mercenary;
3. FTL;
4. Striker;
5. Phantom;
6. Synaptic.

Each class has its own set of weapons and play style. For example: “Fighter” is a balanced class that stands out for its versatility, but is not the best in any area. Phantom is weak in open combat, but strong in stealth. The Synaptic delivers deadly melee attacks.

In Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, weapons are varied:

• Traditional ballistic guns;
• Plasma machines;
• Melee cyber weapons;
• Pursuit Grenade;
• A bomb that sends enemies into a black hole.

In Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, zombies reappear in a separate co-op mode. The essence of the mode has not changed compared to the previous parts, the only difference is the space setting. In this mode, players move through locations, shooting back from hordes of zombies.
