Desktop Background is an unpretentious collection of images dedicated to nature, urban architecture and cars. The developers from Wallpapers Background HD propose to diversify the look of the desktop of computers with the Windows operating system (and with iOS and Android, because in some cases works with vertical orientation are presented) and open up to new visual perspectives.

Features

• Interface. On the screen, the developers have placed a button to reload the list with the current content (in case the images did not appear, are displayed incompletely or with an error) and a section where it is easy to share the found materials. A separate button for scaling is provided. From a design point of view, the “Desktop Background” for Windows feels unfinished – a strange background, a horizontally stretched strip with pictures, an inconvenient preview menu. The situation is saved by the high quality of materials – Full HD, 2K and 4K: it has never been so easy to diversify the design of the desktop!
• Content. There is no division into topics, concepts or collections (as well as search, by keywords, and queries) – images immediately appear on the screen, and a block is displayed on top to go to neighboring tabs. Much of the content is about nature and cars, urban landscape and landscapes. Sometimes there are illustrations on a free theme and even paintings by unknown, but already gaining popularity artists.
• Settings. The parameters look modest: a button to change the frequency of content updates on the home page, and a section with confidential information. But the choice of fonts and backgrounds would not hurt, but perhaps the corresponding settings will appear along with the next updates.
• Implementation. The technical part has been brought to perfection – no crashes, no mistakes. Even if you try to download half of the collection of images, nothing terrible will happen right away, and the connection speed with the server will remain at its maximum. Among the important, but unnamed benefits, it is impossible not to highlight complete protection against ads – no pop-up images and videos, banners or text messages.

Updates, Versions and Access

The “Desktop Background” program is officially supported only by computers with Windows 8 and 10. The collection cannot be downloaded to mobile platforms, but the found materials can be easily transferred by e-mail, in the content of messages for instant messengers and social networks, and from there transferred to Android and iOS with the same purpose – to design a desktop.

All content is distributed freely (without prior registration or authorization) and without restrictions. No one-time payments or subscriptions required. Despite the free basis, it makes no sense to wait for serious opportunities from the program – the developers hardly do updates, rarely release updates with new content, and are not even in a hurry to experiment further. The situation is greatly spoiled by the strange organization of the sections. Neither “Favorites” with images marked with likes, nor “Stories” with recent activity are provided, which is why you will have to scroll through the vertical menu again every time. As a result, all the content will be enough for a one-time viewing, and then you will be bored and wait for rare innovations affecting only 3-4 pictures, and even then with a strange resolution, like 2043×2530.
