DOOM Features

• Hurricane gameplay that does not forgive mistakes and forces you to quickly adjust to the environment and correctly distribute ammunition;
• Spooky scenery with secrets and puzzles that force you to search for passes, levers and pressure plates to advance to the next competitive zone;
• Customizable difficulty level: after the start of the passage, there will be a chance to test your strength in battle with almost innocent monsters, and in confrontations with inexorable minions of darkness;
• Boss battles are a DOOM feature. Hulks that barely fit on the screen will make you look for vulnerabilities and experiment on the fly;
• The level of bloodshed in the shooter reaches indecent proportions: the monsters fly to pieces, lose liters of blood, and are left without arms, legs and heads. And the more cruelty there is, the easier it is to move forward!

Gameplay and Difficulty

The developers are true to tradition, and therefore DOOM is completely similar to the previous shooters in the series. Events unfold in linear arenas filled with monsters, bosses and puzzles. The main character will have to break through enemies using firearms, fighting fists and a chainsaw, and at the same time solve additional tasks that come across on the way. But intellectual respite is very short-lived – not even 5 minutes will pass before you have to rush into the heat of battle again and bring chaos and destruction.

DOOM is demanding on skill: accuracy of shooting, actions chosen during the passage and cunning of movements. If it is difficult to immediately deal with the listed duties, then the passage will be delayed: the monsters will begin to creep up from all sides, wound from afar and cling almost without interruption with sharp claws. The Game Over screensaver will become a kind of mascot. But the shooter will force you to improve your personal skills: albeit not immediately, but progress will come, and bloody battles, when your health is almost zero, and enemies at every step will start to bring real pleasure!

Secrets, Content & Maps

DOOM diligently rewards those who look around and carefully examine the maps prepared by the developers. As you progress, you will have a chance to find plot notes explaining the reason for the events taking place, and special tools for upgrading equipment, and even collectibles with references to the previous parts of the series and the cinema of the 90s.

And the standard version of DOOM on PC allows you to greatly diversify the passage. After the release, the developers from ID Software added a Snap Map editor to the shooter, which allows you to place special map templates and generate new challenges in a semi-automatic mode. Rooms, corridors, lighting, monsters – even the characteristics of each weapon are customizable. After the preparation of new content via Snap Map, there is even an option associated with the purpose of the map – cooperative or single passage, multiplayer confrontations with division into teams and the choice of additional objectives.
