DOOM Eternal – all gamers know that Doom is cool, because a game that was released in 1993 can still “wipe its nose” with other games in this genre.

The players thought that the next game of the developers would be another “prodigal”, because over the past 16 years they have not been able to release a single game really worthy of attention. But that all changed after the release of Doom Eternal. They promised to leave all the best that was in Doom 2016 and they kept this promise.

In fact, the game can be described in two words – run and shred. This is how Doom should be. Fans of the last part simply have to buy this game and go through it, it is worth your attention. And those who are not yet familiar with any of the games in the series should download and try.

DOOM Eternal is all about movement. There is no way to rest here. You hesitate, and a huge pile of enemies have already surrounded you, and in another second you can start the level over. In the game, the gamer is both a hunter and a victim. Either flees from a huge crowd, then tears to pieces the nearest encircled enemy. When a hero finishes off a stunned enemy, he is invulnerable – this is a good opportunity to restore health and think about what to do next.

The difference between the previous parts and the current one

In modern shooters, the player has the opportunity to sit in a shelter to take a breath and restore health, or there is a limited number of first-aid kits. It will be very difficult to find shelter here, and objects lying on the floor will not always help to survive in a difficult skirmish. But as long as there is a stunned enemy nearby that can be finished off, death does not threaten anyone. The situation is the same with ammunition. Don’t focus on collecting ammo. You can take a chainsaw and kill all the monsters with it, and cartridges for all types of weapons will fall from them. No wonder the opening cutscene says: “Rip and slash until the enemies run out.”

The task of the new part of the game

Before DOOM Eternal, the task was to maintain the insane drive of the previous part of the game, and even vice versa, to multiply it at times. It is worth saying that the developers did it. First of all, a huge number of new skills have been added to the game:

• switch between normal and freeze grenades;
• killing monsters with a flamethrower to get additional bonuses to armor;
• the ability to make two dashes both on the ground and in the air with a rollback in a couple of seconds;
• a special skill, in order to gradually charge a bloody blow, when used, all enemies around are reduced to ash.

Monster Features and New Mechanics in DOOM Eternal

Also in the new part of the game, monsters have different features. In the previous parts, any monster could be easily killed with absolutely any weapon. But in the new part, everything is different. Knights and Barons are much easier to kill with a machine gun, flying monsters are vulnerable to ballista, and ordinary soldiers are blown to pieces if you use a shotgun. In addition, a huge number of mobs now have vulnerabilities, shooting at which you can almost completely neutralize the monster. So Eternal makes the player keep in mind all the information about which enemy with which weapon is worth killing.

The Big World of DOOM Eternal

Also, the universe of the game has become larger. A huge number of new planets and worlds appeared, except for Hell, Mars and Earth. But the player will have to figure out the history of the Doom world himself, because the game is not going to lead the player by the handle. But this is not necessary, the game still retains the ability to skip cutscenes and enjoy the simple carnage that fans of this game love so much.
