Slither.io is a high-intensity, competitive arcade game with a colorful style, several modes and simple rules that can be learned in a few minutes.

But to understand the essence is only half the way. The Slither.io snake makes you hone your skills for hours, memorizing non-standard strategies and tactics, spying on competitors’ ideas and turning your own weaknesses into an advantage. Initially, Slither.io had to play online exclusively as part of multiplayer confrontations. Opponents were always selected at random, and the war never stopped even for a few seconds (after a loss, the participants are thrown into the main menu, from where there is a chance to look for a new server and new challenges).

But after several updates, the situation has changed a lot – in addition to Multiplayer, there are also battles with computer intelligence of customizable complexity (from a beginner who is not able to make decisions in time to a professional who does not give a chance to win), and even joint fights with friends. In fact, the developers were allowed to assemble a team, and then – together get out to the server to fight for victory.

Records

The worms in Slither.io are only interested in their position on the temporary leaderboard located at the top right of the interface. It is difficult to find at least a few participants who do not want to win, but dream only of a quality pastime.

Hence the result – it is worth taking a look at the server and you will have to give 100% of everything right away. Any mistake will lead to the inscription Game Over, and there is nothing to do except fight for champion titles. No additional goals and objectives are provided.

Skins

Playing Slither.io as a green, red or black worm is boring. After 2-3 hours, the familiar scenery and the usual color of the main character will force you to look for entertainment on the side. That is why the developers have introduced a whole collection of additional skins that allow you to repaint everything and start a new life.

The available collection includes suits of gentlemen, flags of various countries, as well as inventive sets that appear on the eve of the holidays: Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Halloween.

In addition to the variety of skins in some situations, they also help to distract other people’s attention. If you choose the right suit, you will have a chance to blend in with the environment and deliver unexpected blows to the enemy.

Development

The developers make almost no changes to the adversarial mechanics. As in the moment of release, you have to compete in a familiar way. And yet, work on the development of the Slither.io worm game is not standing still: the authors edit the technical code, improve the principles of networking and expand the base of suits for worms.

In the course of the work done, there have already been fewer crashes and errors, and during the passage the chances of encountering desynchronization or high ping have long since sunk into oblivion. It’s a shame that some of the servers are still not available – you have to experiment for hours, wandering between European and American offerings.

Slither.io features

Tactics in Slither.io depend on the way of passing. If a kind of predator mode is selected, tracking down prey, and then – lightning fast attacking the victim, then it is advisable to stay on the edge of the map and slowly devour the glowing spheres. When the worm becomes larger and can wrap the opponents in a “ring”, you can proceed to search for a victim. When a suitable competitor is found, it remains only to accelerate in time and clamp the enemy in a vice. It is not worth worrying about “self-destruction” – the worm does not lose charges if it runs over its own tail with its head.

If exactly the opposite technique for passing Slither.io is chosen, then you will have to act in a slightly more contact manner, that is, constantly provoking the enemy to make a mistake. This strategy is based on the frequent use of acceleration (on smartphones you will have to press a button on the screen, on computers – the space bar). The main task is to loom in front of the enemy’s face and force them to make a mistake, forcing them to crash.

In addition to these tactics, it is worth experimenting separately and developing non-standard concepts that will help you always reach the first place on the leaderboard. As practice suggests, for the best results, it is recommended to work thoroughly on the management. The faster and more accurate the turns, the less chance of making mistakes, and the higher the final results of the Slither.io game.
