Description

Tom Clancy’s The Division is a third-person MMO shooter based on a cover system with small RPG elements.

The developers promise about 25 hours of the main storyline, a couple of ten hours in the dark zone. The creators also promised to bring a certain amount of content into the game at a high level of pumping into the game. He still exists, but at a very primitive level, like daily tasks or achievements.

Tom Clancy’s The Division Review

Strengths of the game

First off, it’s worth noting that Tom Clancy’s The Division has become Ubisoft’s best-selling game in the company’s history. Some even call this game the best that Ubisoft has just created, of course, after Assassins Creed 2.

Good artificial intelligence of opponents. And to the details. For example, if you are fighting against bandits, then they behave like, you will not believe, bandits! They wander around, do not try to surround you, take shelters somehow, stick out their arms, heads, legs, roll uncertainly and generally behave like a person who does not understand what is happening around.

While, for example, the Last Battalion, which is, in fact, the private military company of the game Tom Clancy’s The Division, demonstrates a completely different level of tactical training. The fighters flank you, retreat gently if they feel that you are superior to them, and so on. In other words, different types of opponents behave differently, which is undoubtedly a huge plus.

Nice lore and setting. Modern New York, a realistic epidemic of a mutated smallpox virus, is a more or less realistic scenario. It’s just a virus that simply kills, because of which society is simply collapsing before our eyes. Nothing supernatural, no walking dead or anything else. Everything is simple and tasteful.

The visual component of Tom Clancy’s The Division. Of course, this is a plus of the game, rather than a minus. The graphics are amazing, the design, the attention to detail, the hand-crafted city and story locations are at an incredible level. First, New York at TheDivision is almost a complete copy of the original New York. Imagine how much work this is. They just took New York and brought it neatly into the game.

Weaknesses of the game

The first and rather serious drawback of the game is controversial gameplay decisions. For example, to kill just one enemy, you need to shoot several clips at him. Yes, it takes a huge amount of bullets to kill just one person. It just catches the eye and, of course, looks very unrealistic.

The second disadvantage is that the game is addictive with incredible efficiency. If you need to work, but you easily get addicted to some kind of addiction, then be careful with Tom Clancy’s The Division, it can eat up a huge amount of your time.

Finally, TheDivision’s main problem is the terrible design of the Dark Zone. So, let’s list the problems of the Dark Zone:

  • Loot drop;
  • Balance;
  • PvP component.

Here sometimes a situation occurs when a player 2 or 3 levels below the opponent simply cannot inflict damage on the opponent. Thus, it turns out to be complete nonsense, you cannot do anything to a player above the level in the Dark Zone, he can behave as he wishes.

Here’s another crazy mechanic of Tom Clancy’s The Division: when you die, no matter how, whether you are a law-abiding agent or Rogue, you lose your Dark Zone experience anyway. Thus, theoretically, by dying over and over again, we can lose several levels, and getting levels in the Dark Zone is much more difficult than losing. Losing them is incredibly easy.

Summary

So, let’s summarize. Of course, the most important feature of this Tom Clancy’s The Division game is New York. It is a dead, empty, atmospheric, insanely beautiful, impeccable New York. It is this New York, the work of artists and designers that makes this game interesting. Without this, the game in any location, implemented in a little less detail, would be a simple, boring and monotonous time-wasting game, perhaps with good tactical elements, perhaps with a not very bad storyline, but in principle it would not have fired.

But this New York is what you should see while you are alive.

Tom Clancy’s The Division is incredibly cool. Yes, there are problems with PvP, loot and netcode. Of course, there are minor issues, bugs here and there, performance issues on the PC and some technical difficulties, but this is not unusual. On consoles, the game doesn’t look as cool as on PC, so what can you do. Either way, The Division is an interactive tour of half-dead New York that is clearly worth the money.
