Octogeddon is an RPG strategy game with survival elements, an experimental combat system and randomly generated challenges that force you to adjust to the virtual universe and fight those who come your way.

The gameplay is intense and immediately draws into the abyss of endless wars deep under water, where the uprising of a fearless and mutated octopus began, who decided to punish insensitive earthlings for the death of their own relatives. And what the uprising will lead to is to be dealt with right in the battle!

Octogeddon Features

• An effective combat system that makes you adjust to the unpredictable world around you and, with the help of special DNA mutations, fight the ships and submarines of earthlings;
• Endless space for creativity: the octopus issued at the start is disassembled into parts, overgrown with new tentacles and characteristics;
• The complexity grows at lightning speed – after 30-40 minutes you will have to carefully think over the actions and experiment with the choice of mutations;
• Trials affect many cities around: events will unfold in New York, where the Statue of Liberty is to be destroyed, and far beyond the classic “Hollywood” places.

Gameplay and atmosphere

Events unfold both under water and on land. Regardless of the location, the gameplay is similar: you have to rotate the virtual octopus and use tentacles to shoot down either underwater trays with bathyscaphes, or fighters and planes trying to protect earthlings from the attacks of a mad octopus. At first, the virtual villain has only a couple of limbs at his disposal that do not have special abilities. But along with the growth of experience and the earning of coins, access to a special research center appears in the menu, which allows initiating a mutation and customizing the character’s appearance.

10 minutes and now the local villain is equipped with claws that bite through even the steel shell of ships, and spitting heads of snakes, and even bird beaks. The new equipment partially changes the gameplay – it comes spinning a little less on its own axis, more often clicking on the screen or more accurately counting shots.

But the atmosphere, along with mutations, does not change: both at the start, and after 10-15 hours, you will have to do similar things – to target the weak zones of earthlings: attractions, military bases and airports. And the more the scenery around is destroyed, the more advantageous is the position of the octopus and the more difficult things are for the world around …

Progress and Challenges

The octopus changes with the appearance of coins: the more accumulated, the faster the villain grows overgrown with new limbs (tentacles), survives other people’s attacks more stable, and more willingly pounces on crowds of enemies. The tests each time put forward similar requirements – it is necessary to bite, spit and protect the head: after all, after a couple of accurate hits, the Game Over splash screen will appear on the screen, and at the same time the offer to practice.

And, although the difficulty grows almost continuously, and the challenges are full of unpredictable mechanics, it is still difficult to enjoy Octogeddon – the story ends too quickly. As soon as you unlock new claws and limbs, master a couple of competitive techniques, the story will suddenly loop, and the final boss will appear on the way. The basic mechanics of the Rogue-Like genre bring at least some surprise: the lives during the passage are limited, and the death of the octopus is irreversible: if death is allowed, then the passage has to start from scratch – the very first mission. Creepy? But did the same Godzilla have more chances?
