DEATH STRANDING is an experimental action adventure with an open world and unusual mechanics for the genre, focused mainly on delivering packages to randomly selected points on the global map. The developers have implemented the profession of a courier very realistically: Sam, the main character, will have to pick up orders at the terminals, and after that, he will put the items on his back (or put them in belt bags) and move towards the addressee.

The hike takes 5 to 15 minutes and is replete with unexpected DEATH STRANDING events: encounters with impassable obstacles, enemies and rifts in time. In addition to other people’s cargo, Sam will also have to remember about supplies, removable shoes and even the stairs necessary for the transitions between the islands, separated by water bodies. Therefore, each new race resembles a struggle with everything in the world – and injustice, and with a heavy load, and with continuously growing demands …

Gameplay and story

Events in DEATH STRANDING unfold in the near future in the post-apocalypse era. The situation around is sad – the former cities and settlements of the United States of America are destroyed, canyons are littered with debris of skyscrapers and debris, and around are full of ghostly travelers from an unknown time, capable of destroying an already difficult human civilization.

There were practically no survivors. Those who are still trying to restore peace around them are scattered throughout the states of the once great power and keep aloof – they hide in settlements and do not try to explore the wastelands around. Sam will have to connect the disparate parts of the country, delivering parcels and placing special elements for setting up radio communications.

You will often have to carry loads – the entire gameplay of DEATH STRANDING is focused on realistic campaigns with believable physics and memorable environmental details. The hero, loaded no worse than a mule, effectively climbs the surface, stumbles, straightens objects on his back and reacts curiously to the events around him.

Mechanics, Content and Difficulty

DEATH STRANDING’s walkthrough is very different from the action movies presented in the genre. This is due to the gameplay, tied exclusively to hiking trips. Not everyone will like such a meditative and unusual gameplay. But in vain – a glance into DEATH STRANDING is worth at least because of the continuous progression of complexity and physics. Watching how the character copes with adversity, survives the radioactive rain, communicates with the characters does not get bored even 10-15 hours later.

And because of the elements of role-based development, there will be a chance to become more resilient and look into those parts of the universe where no one has ever reached and where unique artifacts of a long-lost history are hidden.
