The Path – There is one rule in the game. And it needs to be broken. There is one goal. And when you achieve this, you will die.

Six sisters live in a city apartment. One by one, their mother sends them on an errand to their grandmother, who is sick and bedridden. Teenagers are invited to go to their grandmother’s house deep in the forest and stay on the path at all costs! Wolves hide in the forest, waiting for the girls to get lost.

But young women aren’t exactly known for their obedience, are they? Will they be able to resist the temptations of the forest? Will they be able to stay out of danger? Can they prevent the retelling of an ancient tale?
The Way is a game about growth, about change, about a choice, about accepting the consequences of that choice. The Path is about playing and losing, about embracing life, possibly death.

Features

The Path is a short horror game inspired by the earlier versions of Little Red Riding Hood that are set today. The Path offers an atmospheric experience of exploration, discovery and introspection through a unique form of gameplay designed to immerse you deeply in its dark themes. Every interaction in the game expresses an aspect of the storytelling. Each of the six main characters have their own age and personality, and they allow the player to relive the tale in different ways. Much of the story, however, depends on your active imagination.

The Path is designed with accessibility in mind. There are no ticking clocks or monsters to defeat. No tricky puzzles will ever stop your progress. Most of the actions in the game are optional and voluntary. The player has all the freedom in the world to explore and experience.

Although The Way does not contain scenes of violence or sexuality, it refers to these topics. The general melancholy of play and the potentially unsettling course of events make The Way unsuitable for children. Despite its fabulous origins, The Way is definitely a game for the mature mind.

The game features a full 3D real-time environment that can be explored using third-person navigation. The characters in this virtual world, including player avatars, are controlled by artificial intelligence, which gives them some autonomy. As a result, no one knows exactly what you will encounter on your travels.

Along with layered stylized graphics, The Path offers a continuous soundtrack by goth rock diva Jarbo (ex-Swans). In fact, there are practically no sound effects in the game. Instead, the music is constantly changing depending on what is happening in the game. Like the behavior of the characters, music is never the same twice.
It takes about 6 hours to enjoy the game.
