The first mission in XCOM 2 is dedicated to the rescue operation and reveals the features of the gameplay:

1. Before starting the mission, the operatives are in a stealth mode, allowing them to approach enemies at a safe distance and set up an ambush.
2. Objects around soldiers are destructible, it is possible to break through walls, collapse ceilings, etc.
3. Elements of hacking alien computer systems have appeared, which allows you to open doors or reprogram security towers.

Having coped with the task, one of the participants in the resistance calls an evacuation ship and, together with the commander-in-chief, goes to the XCOM 2 base – this is a captured spaceship equipped under the headquarters of Dr. Shen. By analogy with the first part, the ship is divided into rooms. Clearing them from the rubble of alien debris, we are given the opportunity to build rooms of a special type, for example, for dissecting enemy soldiers or researching extraterrestrial technologies.

Given the mobility of the new station, the movement of the XCOM 2 team takes place directly on it, and not on a separate ship. If we talk about tasks, then they are aimed at destroying bases, capturing points and finding other people who are ready to challenge the “Advent”.

XCOM 2 Troop, Classes, and Weapons

For each mission in the game XCOM 2, 4 units are sent. Initially, they appear as recruits and go into battle with automatic rifles and one consumable (grenade, medical kit). For killing opponents, warriors receive experience points, for which in XCOM 2 they receive classes:

1. Ranger is a melee fighter who uses a shotgun and a sword in operations.
2. Grenadier – specializes in heavy weapons. Performs on operations with a machine gun and a grenade launcher.
3. Sniper – support operative, firing from remote positions. In case of close combat, exposes the pistol.
4. Specialist – combines the elements of a mechanic and a doctor, moves everywhere with the Gremlin drone.
5. Psi Operative is a modernized fighter, capable, by analogy with aliens, to use special energy and harm fighters.

Soldiers in XCOM 2 are promoted to unlock special skills, divided into two columns. You choose the optimal one based on which fighter you want to get in the end. For example, a ranger can become an assassin and specialize in stealthy sword kills, or rely on a shotgun. Weapons in XCOM 2 are improved by obtaining parts from alien warriors or companions from newfound factions. Updates offer improved types of guns inherent in the class of fighters (swords / shotguns for rangers, pistols / rifles for snipers, etc.). Armor in XCOM 2 is pumped in the same way.

XCOM 2 add-ons and favorites

• “Anarchys Children” – new customization elements;
