Evoland for Windows

Evoland is an action-adventure RPG that illustrates the history of the genre. The gameplay is based on a journey around the world, mixing game mechanics and battles with monsters.

After centuries of serenity, an ancient evil has returned to the world of Evolendia. Only the main character, the last member of the Order of the Dragon Knights, can stop him. But Evoland begins not with a story, but with an introduction to the gameplay. At first, everything is presented in black and white with pixel graphics, the character fights with enemies one on one and dies from any blow.

The game through chests is changing, where instead of treasures lies:

• 16, 256, HD color picker;
• Plot;
• Life;
• Switch to 3D mode;
• Improved background textures;
• Open world and more.

Evoland’s review will not be complete without mentioning which games served as a prototype:

• The battles on behalf of the hero, the doors that open after defeating the monsters, the search for the master key to enter the boss fight are taken from The Legend of Zelda series. The name of the protagonist is also a reference – Klink (Link from Zelda).
• Some Evoland characters are taken straight from the prototype games. It’s easy to understand when you meet Sid, the captain of the flying ship who is present in all parts of the FF series.
• The turn-based combat system copied from Final Fantasy VII: the turn of the blow determines the speed of the hero, there is a summon of a magical creature.
• Towards the end of the story, the Evoland walkthrough uses Diablo II mechanics.

Evoland Walkthrough and Secrets

The only way to complete Evoland is to complete the story. The story develops after the rescue of the girl Caris (the name refers to the character class of the healers). She is looking for a way to save her native village from the drought caused by the appearance of evil forces in the local castle (hello Castlevania).

Those who collect the Evoland amulet, divided into two halves, can get into it. Its first part is hidden by the Evoland Sacred Grove. The entrance to it is blocked by boulders, destroyed only by bombs taken from a boy from the girl’s home village. This location opens up the mechanics of moving between the old and the new world (2D graphics and modern 3D).

There are three ways to save in Evoland:

1. Stepping onto the illuminated platform.
2. After spending the night in a tavern.
3. Using a healer’s treatment.

The Evoland ending has two phases: Final Fantasy-style turn-based combat, ending with. Caris is killed in a 3D battle. The ultimate enemy of Evoland is Zephyrus with the form of a monster and a magical creature. After the victory, the achievement “Hero” opens and credits follow.

In Evoland, the secrets of the passage can be attributed to any RPG:

• Spend the money you earn to buy armor that increases defense.
• Gain experience and level up in turn-based battles.
