WinRAR for Windows

WinRAR is a file archiver written for Windows, MacOS, Linux and Android operating systems. Able to unpack, create, modify or restore archives of different formats.

How to unpack an archive in WinRAR

The archive created by WinRAR is opened by the program of the same name. The exception is RAR5, which cannot be opened with software versions lower than 5.0. Before opening an archive via WinRAR, set backward compatibility with it in the installer window.

Open them by double-clicking or using the utility interface by selecting “Extract”. The destination directory is user-defined. WinRAR archive formats are unpacked at different speeds. This is influenced by the compression method, encoding, the total number of volumes, the free amount of RAM, the type of drive (SSD has a higher speed).
