UBOAT is an experimental simulator of a submarine wandering the seas and oceans at the height of the Second World War: the planet is ablaze with fire, new soldiers are constantly entering the front, and an irreconcilable struggle is waged in the air.

UBOAT Features

• The random generation of events in UBOAT makes you instantly react to the world around you: issue orders, engage in battles and even sacrifice allies for the sake of survival;
• It is pointless to rely on the help of allies on the high seas – no one will deliver either resources or medicines, and therefore you have to experiment, search sunken ships and even visit ports;
• Developers from Deep Water Studio have adapted UBOAT for both newcomers who first encountered the world of submarines and for professionals who understand hundreds of aspects, including ballast distribution and target tracking in the periscope;
• The combat system is full of surprises: there is an upgrade of equipment, access to a store with torpedoes, decoys, carbon dioxide absorbers, and at the same time – research centers that facilitate many actions.

Challenges and History

The plot in UBOAT is non-linear and develops randomly – the story is influenced by the upgrade of military equipment chosen at the start of the passage, and the situation on the high seas, and even recent combat achievements. Despite unpredictable events (and every minute thousands of things happen around or inside the submarine), the general core of the story is still provided: orders are issued from the headquarters, instructions are periodically changed, and for each, even a tiny victory, experience points are awarded.

“Gifts” will come in handy in the future – they will help to unlock equipment, open access to new challenges, and at the same time allow you to research technologies that were initially inaccessible. And the progress will be filled for a long time – the constantly emerging prospects will not leave anyone indifferent …

Gameplay and atmosphere

The UBOAT simulator immediately puts points in sentences and, even on a virtual training ground, introduces and issues a couple of orders. It is mainly about moving around the global map (points for interaction are selected in advance), battles with enemy ships and the arrangement of a submarine from the inside.

Such versatile mechanics force you to stay behind the screen almost continuously, reacting in time to even minor changes in the team’s mood or indicators from the radar. But it is not at all necessary to act too zealously – there is no need to fire torpedoes if the enemy has just appeared far on the horizon …

Watching the life of a virtual submarine is no less curious than issuing orders or adjusting to opponents appearing on the horizon: sailors swarm in the compartments, equipment bursts from extreme pressure, and the roar of the suffering universe around it spreads along the skin. But the frightening external situation is still half the battle, it is much worse than the situation when events begin to spiral out of control.

And now the compartments are filling with water, the indicators are shining red, and a hazy future lies ahead. Is it time to shut off the oxygen? Climb to the surface? Risking a strategic point for the sake of the team? Thousands of questions and only in UBOAT there will be a chance to get one step closer to the truth …
