The gameplay of The Long Dark may not bring something new, but it allows you to look at the genre not much from a different angle. We have to fight dangerous frost and wind, insatiable hunger and thirst, and so on. All these natural phenomena will not give a simple pioneer an easy escape, which is why you need to be careful and careful. The protagonist has four needs, each of which must be satisfied, because if this is not done, the situation will become critical. To prevent this, you need to go hunting, be able to properly distribute the food ration, choose a place to sleep correctly, and much more. A lot of details and trifles allow you to believe in the truthfulness and danger of the environment.

It is also advisable not to sit in a lonely estate, but to run around large locations in order to find useful resources that will definitely be needed in the future or even save lives. After all, a large number of predators will not leave you alone, while you calmly walk and admire the picturesque landscapes, and they are also very beautiful. In general, the picture here is unique, as if drawn by hand, it does not leave anyone indifferent. After all, looking at pure snow, white steam from the mouth and bright fire, it is impossible not to plunge into this wonderful atmosphere.

The plot in The Long Dark consists of episodes that were not in the alpha version. Each of them gradually reveals the character and his friends, makes you think about the meaning of being and the insignificance of a person in front of the enormous power of unbridled nature.

It all starts with the fact that the main character will have a short flight by plane. As you might guess, something goes wrong and instead of the destination, the hero finds himself in some wilderness, getting out of which he can return home.

Even before its full release, The Long Dark was praised for its believability, distinctive graphic style, romance of adventure, and much more. A lot of positive feedback encouraged the staff to see it through to the end, and when this happened, the praise flew from all sides, which was later rated at 8/10 points.
This game is definitely worth the attention of the player, even if he does not go through the whole story, but at least enjoy the beauty and realism of what is happening on the screen.
