Description

Steam Link – Remote Play Anywhere.

Play Steam games on your phone, tablet, TV or other PC using the Steam Link. With touch control schemes recently optimized for hundreds of popular games, you can now access and play games from your PC from your couch or on the go. Many Steam games are already optimized for your devices.

Steam Link Features

Just add internet
Using the Steam Link, you can connect to any computer running Steam – either on your local network or over the Internet. For best performance, use 5G, Wi-Fi, or a wired Ethernet connection.

Take control
Many popular Bluetooth controllers, including the Steam Controller, are compatible with the Steam Link and your devices. Or just use the built-in touchscreen controls.

Behind the scenes
The Steam Link is designed to use the horsepower you already have at home to stream from your current gaming computer, mirroring their experience on your device. Video and audio data is sent from your computer to the Steam Link, and data from your controller is sent back in real time.

Remote Play Together Steam Link now also supports remote co-op play! Any Steam player can invite anyone with the Steam Link app to join their game.

How Steam Link works

  • Host launches game on Steam
  • Using your friends list (right-click a friend) or in-game overlay (Shift-Tab), invite your friends.
  • A friend accepts the invitation, and that’s it!

Stream with friends
Using Remote Play Together, you will stream video, audio and voice between players using your own controllers. You can even share your keyboard and mouse. And while you’re playing, all voice chat and game volume options are available in one place.

All devices, all the fun
Just like Remote Play Anywhere – all a person joining a game needs is a device, the Steam Link app, and an internet connection – not even a Steam account is required. This means that I can join from my computer, phone or tablet at home or on the road.

Strictly fun
For simplicity, your friends will only be shown the game, not your desktop or other top secret stuff. You can share or restrict access to the keyboard and mouse. This is your choice.

Steam Link remote playback technology is based on remote playback technologies that provide real-time video encoding over a configurable, low-latency network protocol.

When you play a game using Remote Play, video and audio are sent from your gaming PC to the other device. Remote input and multiplayer voice are sent back to the gaming computer within milliseconds.

You can adjust the streaming resolution and bit rate for optimal performance with advanced settings. On a 5GHz network, our goal is 1080p @ 60fps with good quality for most scenes. If you have a powerful gaming rig, wired network, and an appropriate client device, you can stream 4K at 60fps.
