Icarus Online is a fantasy MMORPG with an intense combat system, open world and linear storyline, centered primarily around the Midlas universe, inhabited by elves, dragons and even knights in shining armor.

Although the environment around is mostly friendly, wars do not stop for a second: heroes share resources, fight for power and freedom, and periodically begin battles for the ability to wield exclusive spells. But the listed tasks pale in front of third-party activity, never-before-seen landscapes and bosses, covering half the sun due to the immense size.

Features of Icarus Online

• The story in Icarus Online is full of surprises: the screen is always full of characters available for interaction, transferring quests and exchanging resources;
• The combat system is simple, but as you progress it changes and becomes overgrown with jumps, acrobatic techniques and spells – the further along the plot, the more spectacular the battles!
• PvP and PvE modes in Icarus Online are combined in curious proportions – it is not at all necessary to deal with sheep grazing in the meadows or gape wolves for hours – no one bothers to demonstrate your skills to real opponents found on the net;
• Crafting and upgrading equipment and adventurous expeditions to caves and raids are allowed in Midlas – there will hardly be a moment when boredom will catch up with the varied gameplay;
• Character leveling is carried out on many fronts – apart from the choice of skills, you cannot do without passive abilities, professions and rewards from clans and teams.

Gameplay and story

The RPG fighter Icarus Online does not even try to stand out from the competition: many mechanics migrated to Midlas practically intact – we are talking about the ability to tame pets, and about crafting equipment from resources found during heroic deeds, and about racial wars that unfolded between elves and dwarfs and other inhabitants of the fantasy region. Raids, PvP arenas with team confrontations, and even themed events including campfire gatherings or swimsuit festivals will not be news.

With the plot, things are a little better: the story of an ornate, periodically changes the narrators and makes you fully explore the world around you – look into hidden areas, meet bosses and try to recognize the secrets of unknown races.

Updates, Support & Community

Immediately after the official release of Icarus Online, the developers from WemadelO and Valofe focused on adding new content, reworking the in-game balance and technical innovations (optimization, distributing part of the load from the central processor to video cards, combating crashes and errors). Fans greeted half of the innovations not with enthusiastic reviews, but with very restrained comments about the need to update the universe even more often. The situation was partially corrected by the “Dark Valley” DLC, which adds a new region, challenges and items, but there are still many dissatisfied.

It’s a pity – the community at Icarus Online is quite friendly: they make life easier for beginners in raids and are happy to invite them to clans and squads, abuse is rarely found in chats, and more often only offers to exchange things, and the hubs are full of those who have stopped fighting monsters and dreams of chatting on third-party topics. But maybe the positive emotions from the community will carry over to the Icarus Online forums? While it remains only to wait.
