Head Ball 2 is an experimental football arcade game, technically and story-driven by unpredictable and incredibly dynamic competitive battles taking place in 1v1 format in a tiny stadium.

The goal of each Head Ball 2 participant who appears on the football field is to gain the trust of fans, attack the enemy’s gates and defend their own, making tricky and ambiguous decisions that can confuse the opponent and bring sports results. Battles on the field are fought over two classic halves, after which the participant who scored the most goals receives three types of awards at once: experience, money and reputation.

Arcade Head Ball 2 differs from competitors in the genre more than it seems at first glance, and there are several reasons for that.

Fights

Each duel is unpredictable and dynamic. The developers of Head Ball 2 propose to continuously exchange blows, move at lightning speed across the available piece of land and use the tools at hand (however, there are not too many options – here either canopy strikes, or twisted feeds, or the use of non-standard ricochets that can confuse an opponent) … As a result, a bacchanalia unfolds on the screen, which at some point can no longer be controlled. So you have to click on the available buttons and wait for what such recklessness will turn out to be.

From the point of view of the complexity of the fights, the situation is unambiguous. The higher the position on the leaderboard, the more serious the opponents that get in the way, and the more terrible the mistakes made on the field.

There are two ways to restrain the aggression of opponents – either you will have to develop skill, constantly training and memorizing non-standard combinations (in fact, you need to turn the unpredictable bacchanalia in Head Ball 2 into a weapon of mass destruction), or it will remain to redeem a couple of bonuses and invest development points in the selected character. Which, finally, will get stronger, will move faster across the field and strike harder with the sword.

Visual design

An additional way to add variety to Head Ball 2 is to buy a new stadium (at the start you will have to fight on a gray field with holes in the lawn and broken floodlights) and change the standard ball to the one used in the Champions League.

Character stats

The situation with the heroes in Head Ball 2 is ambiguous. On the one hand, there will be a chance to unlock footballers from eminent national teams and teams, and at the same time – to gain a competitive advantage with strong hits and fast running.

On the other hand, as the players note in the reviews for Head Ball 2, the developers have long stepped over the available line and instead of Ronaldo and Messi propose to use the abilities of some monsters and birds. The atmosphere of football is killed.
