Avidemux for Windows

Avidemux is a cross-platform and multifunctional open source graphics editor that allows you to freely convert and superficially modify video files in AVI, MPEG, MP4 / MOV, OGM, ASF / WMV formats, applying effects and filters, cutting out unnecessary fragments and stitching manually prepared subtitles.

Additional functions include command line support, preparation of a schedule for editing at the time or at a certain period of the day or night, easy generation of logos, banners and visual templates for prepared videos in a matter of seconds.

The developers of Avidemux give out the whole set of features in free mode, and at the same time supplement with a number of instructions and tips aimed at beginners and explaining some of the functions before starting work, which means that progress will triple!

How to use Avidemux

Dozens of supported formats, ranging from classic AVI and less common MKV, FLV. Work with versatile codecs is also provided – x264, Xvid, LAME, TwoLAME.

Additional extensions are loaded directly from the Avidemux menu. Filters, non-standard transitions, a modified timeline – for those who cannot do without professional or entertainment tools, nothing else will have to worry about anything: all the variety is already hidden in the main menu, all that remains is to download.

Working with subtitles is global – the developers allow both generating accompanying text and embedding already prepared over the videos. ASS and SRT formats are supported, and with the help of plugins there will be a chance to convert subtitles from other sources.

When editing, unnecessary fragments can be easily cut, slowed down or accelerated, moved or expanded, covered with filters, transitions or frames. The whole process of interacting with frames is extremely intuitive – it is worth cutting off a piece, and then calling a drop-down menu with the right mouse button. Available actions will help you achieve the desired result without losing important information.

Hot keys work stably and efficiently. Actions can be easily canceled with CTRL + Z, files can be added with CTRL + V, and a menu can be invoked using ALT. If desired, the methods of interacting with the keyboard can be easily changed in the settings.

The command line and automation tools help to generate special presets for visual and surface treatment of all added files, specify the schedule for editing and conversion, or logos for adding watermarks.
