Smash Racing for iOS

Smash Racing is an arcade race about a criminal confrontation with an army of police cars. Maneuver between obstacles on the track, dodge a collision with representatives of the law, complete secondary tasks to expand the vehicle fleet and the number of levels.

Gameplay

The game starts with a proposal to choose the interface language between English and Russian. Having defined, we are briefly explained the basics of management:

• the car moves automatically;
• the player adjusts its path by clicking on the left or right side of the display to rotate in the appropriate direction;
• collision with heavy objects (trees, cars, stones, blocks) leads to an explosion of the car, but pillars, benches, cacti, etc. will fly apart on impact.

The camera in the game is isometric, which allows you to increase the view of the level, but does not save you from the sudden appearance of a police car rushing in your forehead. The pattern of behavior of the pursuers is simple – they rush after the car of the criminal in order to destroy, bypassing large obstacles on the way. By analogy with the player, the cars of the guardians of the law explode from any contact with large objects and other representatives of the authorities.

The longer you manage to stay at the location, the more deadly opponents will begin to appear on the map. For example, after holding out for close to 1 minute, ordinary cops will be replaced by rapid response trucks, and a tank will come to their aid. During the pursuit, they help out bonuses in the form of glowing clots that appear randomly on the map. Having picked them up, you get buffs in the form:

1. Increasing the size of your vehicle.
2. Reduce / slow down / mass destruction of enemies.
3. Damage shield.
4. Puddles of oil left behind your car.

Missions, vehicles and levels in Smash Racing

So that the Smash Racing application does not seem pointless, the developers have added a set of tasks, for the completion of which you have access to new vehicles and levels. Missions are as follows:

• kill 20 cops in one game;
• get X5 multiplier (it grows if two cars of pursuers collide);
• kill 400 enemies;
• hold out for 30/60 seconds.

1 completed order = 1 open vehicle. All 12 cars, with the exception of the sedan available by default, are endowed with special skills:

1. The van is dropping mines.
2. A 4×4 off-road vehicle blasts enemies with slowing smoke.
3. Ice cream van throws dessert at enemies and so on.

For every 3 completed tasks, access to a new location with a transformed environment and obstacles opens. Initially, only parking with a concentration of cars is available.

Graphics, Sound, Control

The graphic style is reminiscent of Crossy Road: chopped car models, bright locations and explosion effects, unrealistic surroundings. The game has one looped melody that repeats both in the main menu and during gameplay. The track sounds cheerful and does not have time to get bored.

The controls are responsive, but the cars are clumsy, which is why you have to get used to the local physics. There is also a problem with bonuses – burying under the influence of a shield or an increase in a stone block, it becomes impossible to leave, since the reverse is not provided.

The average project score is 4.7 points out of 5.
