Pumped BMX for Android

Explore 5 original zones, combine 10 tricks and complete 100 challenges. To understand the mechanics, we are offered to undergo training, where they explain the control features and the purpose of the keys:

1. Hold “Pumped” to start movement and gain speed. While jumping, release the button for free flight. Hold it down again when you fly down, so that, after touching the ground, you get acceleration for the next jump.
2. The Flip key is only needed for back and forth flips.
3. Tricks are assigned to the stick from the bottom left, to perform them, hold it in one of 8 directions.
4. Tilt the cyclist forward or backward using the gyroscope.

For Pumped BMX on Android, this control causes ambiguous emotions due to the unresponsive main character. Now about the available zones in the amount of 5 pieces:

• Back Yard;

• The Comp.

Graphics, sound, interface

The game was released in the early 10s, but due to the uncomplicated visual style of 2D graphics and side view in 2019, the project looks nice. Against the background of graphic performance, physics loses: it is impossible to feel the speed, the hero has no weight, it is impossible to climb the mountain without preliminary acceleration. Its contribution is made by a kind of control that makes you sweat if you play Pumped BMX on a PC through an emulator. The tilt of the smartphone is inconvenient, and it is impossible to change them to on-screen keys.

There are no questions about the sound in the menu – a dynamic soundtrack that matches the chosen theme. At locations, things are worse. Looking at the farm, we get a melody for the banji, the sound of the wind and buzzing bees. This is against the background of the main character, spinning around its axis and other things. In addition, there is no translation into Russian here, since in the training mode the main aspects of the game mechanics are clearly illustrated.

There are no claims only to the execution of the interface, which resembles early flash games. We get a title screen with an info menu, mute and go to the developer site. By tapping on the screen, a list of locations appears, while lawns float in the background. The fonts are selected in a minimalistic style. It is a pleasure to watch such a performance.
