Kik is a cross-platform text messenger with instant messages, chats for up to 50 contacts, and registration not with a mobile phone number, but using nicknames.

The developers suggest sharing less confidential information and more focus on communication: correspondence in Kik is not limited by rules, is full of interesting features (including forwarding media content, support for GIFs and music) and provides for the ability to accidentally find a new interlocutor.

Benefits, functionality and interface

Kik stands out from its competitors for its cross-platform support, informative design and lightning-fast work speed (on par with Telegram). The elements of social interaction are also thought out: it is allowed to share a profile using a QR code, to customize chats by subject and name, and through the context menu to transfer content accumulated on the internal or external memory – images, videos, animated sketches.

As an additional bonus, Kik is a highly customizable correspondence with friends: hidden chats with passwords and special access parameters that exclude random visitors are available. But recommendations for beginners are greatly lacking – sometimes it is almost impossible to figure out the details, and therefore you have to experiment for a long time at every step. The situation is saved only by full localization into Russian – although there is no need to confuse the buttons.
