Amazon Prime Video is an American streaming service that launched in 2006 and provides access to exclusive content distributed by subscription or one-time payment method.

After the release, the developers of Amazon Prime Video expanded the list of supported countries and launched channels with TV shows, films, TV shows from Amazon Studios, Showtime, HBO, Starz in neighboring regions, and then around the world. The subscription price depends on the country, but the content is allowed to be viewed on any compatible platform – mobile equipment, computers, TVs and game consoles.

• Interface adapted not even for standard monitor resolutions with predictable navigation and logical structure;
• Low requirements for PC and Internet performance (even with a weak connection, there will be no problems with loading);
• Official subtitle support with on-the-fly language selection. Similarly, audio tracks are switched;

• Sophisticated category system with genres, studios, recent releases or specific topics. If you really want to deal with negative thoughts along with comedies, then there will be no problems.

Content, Versions and Updates

In 2006, only Amazon-produced materials appeared on the pages of Amazon Prime Video: the developers were streaming towards exclusivity, and therefore offered rare films and series that were not available from competitors. A little later, TV shows and films from third-party studios appeared, including the famous HBO and Showtime. Over time, the number of channels increased – cartoons and documentaries, sports broadcasts and regional content providers appeared.

The concept of Amazon Prime Video has not changed a single gram since the release: as before, content is not available without a subscription or one-time payments (the same films are allowed to be purchased or rented for a day with access from multiple platforms). As a bonus, the developers offer ad protection, priority support from hotline specialists, and a monthly trial period.

Interface and functionality

Amazon Prime Video has a classic design. On the left there is a quick access panel with buttons and sections. Below is a button for authorization and a gear with settings (the appearance of the interface changes, a language is selected, a place to save content through the preload menu). Above – a search line that supports filters and allows you not to get lost among the names of an endless table.

The pages with TV shows and films are also thought out: ratings are displayed there, trailers are shown, critics’ reviews, comments from the community. And also – tracks from OST are displayed.

From a functional point of view, Amazon Prime Video does not offer any innovations: the same customizable media player with the ability to switch quality, bitrate, resolution, translation languages, subtitles. The same recommendations and library updates in the background. Even push notifications, including those working on a PC, are hardly capable of impressing hard-core viewers.

Only the preloading is curious, and the possibility of displaying images on third-party platforms – screens of mobile equipment, TVs, game consoles wirelessly, without wires, adapters and additional actions. Even beginners will have no problems with setting up!
