Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End – thanks to this game, we learned about real adventures. We were able to enjoy the Amazon forests, the majestic Himalayas and the serenity of the Arabian Peninsula.
He took us to legendary places full of treasures. Because of him, we rushed headlong to the store to buy a prefix. Our hero’s name was Nathan Drake. A year ago, he finally left us after a whole dozen years of incredible adventures. However, do not be upset: he will be replaced by an equally worthy candidate.
Change Time
Uncharted 4 was great. However, there was still something missing from her. I wanted new experiences. The main character constantly found new problems for himself, but all this was already rather fed up. In this part, the developers tested the updated mechanics, trying to rekindle the fire in the eyes of the players. As soon as the game hit the trail, the studio immediately switched to the new part of The Last of Us, while Uncharted was entrusted to a lesser known team. At that time, this step was considered risky. Now we can say with confidence that he was right. The next version of Uncharted turned out to be the very game for which a few years ago the players took PlatStation 3.
Since Drake’s story was over in the last part, the game needed a new charismatic hero who would become the new personification of the series. The search did not last long: The Lost Legacy took Chloe Fraser, familiar from the second part of the game. Together with her, Nadine Ross, who became one of the main characters of Uncharted 4, went on an adventure.
They found each other
It was clear to everyone that this was the same Drake, only in a female form. It is impossible to argue with this, because they really have a lot of similarities. Moreover, at one time they were connected by a relationship. However, then Nate preferred Elena, and Chloe continued to wander in search of herself. However, it is worth noting that Fraser resembles the same Drake from the times of the first two parts of the game. Sometimes reckless, she rushes to her goal no matter what. Self-confidence allows her to take on any business and no matter who is the customer of her services.
Her companion is the complete opposite of the main character. Nadine in this version works for Chloe, obeying her orders. A well-thought-out plan prevails in her work. She does not like to improvise, so their combination looks even more interesting.
This step allowed the new part to get rid of an extremely annoying feature, because Drake, despite his strong character, was always forced to obey other people’s requirements. It was pretty infuriating, because each companion could tell the hero what to do. As a result, a brave adventurer became an obedient boy. Now there is no such problem.
Nadine does not allow herself such antics, only occasionally limiting herself to short advice. As a result, the user is free to decide how to act in a given situation. The player began to lead the process. In addition, during the game, the characters develop, they become more and more accustomed to each other, becoming friends.
Reason for merging
What could motivate such different people to create an alliance? Each of them has its own motives for starting an adventure in the mountains of India. Chloe wants to find the tusk of the god Ganesha, repeating the path of her father. Nadine wants to regain her former reputation. They are hindered by a terrorist named Asav, who, however, does not stand out for any special features.
The plot of the game does not contribute anything innovative. Still, this is an offshoot of the plot, and not the next issue of the series. However, here we will not meet monotonous missions with crowds of enemies. As a result, we have the most concentrated part in the entire series.
In addition, the add-on status gave the studio the opportunity to experiment, bringing the production of the numbered part to the ideal. Now in the open world you can find competent content. The combat part has become richer, a balance has appeared. The mini-game during lockpicking gave the game a certain personality that distinguishes it from previous parts. Unfortunately, instead of drawings, Chloe uses a mobile phone.
The Lost Legacy has no problems. Is that the plot itself is too short. In addition, all the promises about the magnificent open world turned out to be inflated. But in general, during this time you can get a lot of pleasure from passing.
The future of the series
The studio that developed the new part has successfully proved that it can work with such a large-scale project. Of course, this version is much simpler than the licensed part, but there are no problems at this stage. Although the open world from The Lost Legacy is in fact a huge location with not the most interesting quests, it seems that Uncharted definitely has a future.
