Nick Jr. is an educational and entertainment platform from Nickelodeon aimed at preschoolers and those who are eager to explore the world around them and look behind the curtain of the unknown.

Developers Nick Jr. invite young “why” to watch cartoons and piece together puzzles, deal with puzzles and interact with virtual characters, choosing the appropriate action and showing creativity. The platform does not set strict goals: it is not at all necessary to monitor the position on the leaderboard, the results of recent tests or upcoming challenges. Quite the opposite – you have to learn the world, and not compete with everyone who gets in the way.

• The colorful interface stylistics will bring even those who are far from Nickelodeon cartoons into extraordinary animation;
• Trials at Nick Jr. – Shows & Games is plentiful, but even more time is allotted for entertainment content: developers allow watching films and TV series 3-4 hours a day;
• You cannot move through tasks in random order – in Nick Jr. – Shows & Games has a structure to follow;
• There is enough room for creativity and experimentation on the platform: if you want, you will have a chance to draw, solve a puzzle and even practice music.

Access, Progress and Subscription

Distributed by Nick Jr. – Shows & Games on the Freeware model: some of the content (approximately 80%) is available immediately and without prior registration. In the basic set, the developers have placed puzzles, a starting line of cartoons and additional tests that appear as you progress. Exclusive materials are issued after the preparation of a new profile and registration of a subscription. Premium allows you to watch live and recorded TV shows (from Nickelodeon), as well as transfer content to internal memory for viewing even without network access.

If you do not share the Nick Jr. into parts, then skills will have to be developed in a step-by-step mode, periodically switching between goals: a tab with musical tests appeared on the screen, and a couple of cartoons next door. The system does not allow you to go to viewing until the tests have been passed or at least the rules and objectives of the section have not been viewed. The idea is not new, but it disciplines restless “why” and reminds of the need to move along a previously prepared path, and not jump to a new place.

Content, Updates & Atmosphere

After the release, Nick Jr. – Shows & Games didn’t immediately evolve from a media player that allows you to watch videos and cartoons from Nickelodeon. At first, the feature set looked very modest. No tests and assignments, additional goals and objectives. Only a directory with a search bar and links to upcoming releases.
But soon the situation changed – the developers focused on updates and a month later the platform changed: assignments and creative tasks appeared, tests of increased complexity were added, and at the same time educational materials (mostly in English) devoted to everything in a row, starting from objects around and arithmetic operations …

Nick Jr. – Shows & Games game structure and atmosphere are thought out. Preschoolers will not have to call their parents for help, because of the thoughtful navigation and pop-up tips, even a very young explorer of the world will figure out all the details in a matter of moments.
