YouTube Go is an alternative version of the classic video hosting from Google, which differs from the original YouTube in the ability to upload videos, films, TV shows, sports broadcasts and reports to the internal or external memory of mobile equipment with iOS and Android operating systems.

The Go service appeared especially for those who are always lacking in entertainment where there are full of problems with access to the Internet. Interface and functionality

The Go service has plenty of visual intersections with the original YouTube: a similar style is striking (even a dark theme is in place!), And the design of a personal channel, and a section with settings. But the quick access bar is still completely different. Instead of “Stories”, “Recommended” and “Library” at the bottom of the screen there are only buttons “Home” (standard news feed with content) and “Downloaded”, where the downloaded videos in the selected quality are located.

From the point of view of functions, the YouTube Go service is also very limited: from here you cannot publish your own content, look into recommendations or even view other people’s “Stories” (comments and likes work in standard mode). But there will be no problems with downloading content – a couple of moments and the video will very soon appear on the internal or external memory.

Settings and Updates

The panel with parameters in the YouTube Go service is limited to a couple of items related to authorization (by default, the Google profile is pulled up), the choice of a theme, and privacy. The developers allow you to hide the history of viewed content, query statistics and other details of recent activity. It also provides the ability to set options related to notifications: if videos are uploaded, a special push notification with a sound signal will appear.

YouTube Go updates are focused primarily on technical issues, bugs and crashes. Developers from Google have already fixed the problem with inaccessible videos, and at the same time – figured out the optimization: the content is loaded many times faster, and the service has ceased to load mobile operating systems more than usual. Nevertheless, it is difficult to call the implementation of YouTube Go qualitative – disgruntled comments from the community are another confirmation of this.
