Modes and mechanics in Survivalcraft 2

Before creating the in-game world, we are offered to choose a mode:

• Challenging – classic survival, moderately dangerous, but with the ability to resurrect after death and continue your adventure.
• Cruel – completely repeats the previous mode. After the first death, the created world disappears, and the game has to start over.
• Creative is a solution for imaginative players. Craft houses, change decorations, hover over the map.
• Harmless is a simplified in-game session where users take less damage and the speed of destruction of blocks is increased by 25%. Predatory animals remain neutral until provoked by the player.

Having decided how you will play Survivalcraft 2, you can make adjustments to the settings of the created continent: biome size, humidity, ocean level, temperature, set the texture of blocks, transform colors and confirm the presence of supernatural creatures in the game.

As for the mechanics in Survivalcraft 2 on the computer, they are all sharpened on the survival of the hero. For example, without sleep, the hero will begin to weaken, and left for the night without shelter, will be attacked by wild animals. Fire, obtained through a fire or torches, saves from aggressive creatures. In addition, fire increases the temperature and becomes the main helper in the frost biome.

The next moment in the game Survivalcraft 2 has to do with clothing. If you jump into the water or get caught in the rain, it gets wet, it gets heavier and colder. This will speed up the freezing and slow down your movement speed. And only in hot climates will moisture save you from overheating. A feature of the project was the presence of several types of weapons for long-range combat:

• bow;
• crossbow;
• musket.

The first and the second inflict damage depending on the quality of the shells: steel arrows and bolts give out several times less injuries than their diamond counterparts. The Musket deals the most damage and has the following production sequence:

• Create a base from a steel bar, 2 blocks of steel and wood.
• One rod is required to create a bullet base.
• 4 stems divide by a fraction.
• 4 fractions turn into bullets.

The power of the shot is enough to kill a large animal like a bear. The mechanics of how to load a musket in Survivalcraft 2 stand out separately. To do this, arrange the gunpowder, cotton and buckshot in order. Reloading between shots takes time, so try to hide from your pursuers for this moment.

Gameplay

The creation of building blocks or items in Survivalcraft 2 copies the same mechanics from the previously mentioned Minecraft. When we are landed on a deserted island, the hero’s inventory is empty. The first step is to get a tree, where 4 blocks of boards are mined from one cube. By placing those in the crafting square, the player receives a workbench, increasing the area for creating items by 6 cells.

The recipes for crafting in Survivalcraft 2 are somewhat intuitive, but it’s hard to create weapons without experience:

1. Create sticks by placing 2 blocks of planks in the top left and middle space.
2. To craft consumables for work, open the workbench and place 2 sticks in the bottom and middle slot in the center.
3. Create a wooden pickaxe by stacking 3 blocks of planks in the top line.
4. Rakes require 2 planks to be placed horizontally in slots.
5. The shovel consists of a single cube directly above the sticks.
6. The ax looks like the letter “P” turned upside down.
7. To create a spear, form the consumables in the form of an upward arrow (one block on top and two on either side of the stick in the middle).

The Survivalcraft 2 guide should mention the creation of a chest for storing items (8 blocks of boards throughout the crafting square, except for the middle) and a fire (4 sticks in 4 cells).
The most interesting craft in the game Survivalcraft 2 for the computer is the musket – the most powerful and “expensive” long-range weapon to maintain. To create it, go to the workbench and:

1. Place a steel bar in the first cell, 2 solid steel blocks in the middle and 2 blocks of planks at the end.
2. To create cartridges, lay out the steel bar on 4 iron stones.
3. Place 4 stones in the upper cells, we get buckshot.
4. One buckshot turns into 4 bullets.

The hardest thing to figure out is how to load a musket in Survivalcraft 2. To do this, put in turns: gunpowder, cotton, buckshot or a bullet. Single rounds inflict the greatest damage, killing a bear with one shot. In Survivalcraft 2 on Android and other platforms, the musket is used unloaded to scare away animals.

In Survivalcraft there are 2 maps and the entire environment is made of cubes. Unlike the similar Block Story, where inappropriate models of NPCs and animals were crammed, everything here is organic. Due to the visual style, it will not be possible to call the game beautiful, but for fans of this genre, it will surely like it.

During the test of the project on a PC, there was no musical accompaniment during gameplay. There were sounds of movement, resource extraction, animals, fire crackling, but not music. This does not affect the gameplay, but a light ambient would come in handy. Of the flaws, the official Survivalcraft 2 in Russian did not come out. There are proposals on the network to download the crack from unconfirmed sources – a risky business.

Dealing with the controls at first looks like a separate quest. If everything is clear with movement and access to inventory, then the separation of blocks by holding down the left or right mouse button on them does not look clear enough. In addition, Survivalcraft 2 can be played online using a 4-person split screen.

Graphics, Sound, Control

Survivalcraft 2 maps look level with Minecraft . Procedural generation works fine and there were no monotonous locations over several restarts of the game. Unlike other lane clones, the wild animals and blocks here are modeled after the same style. Music is present only in the menu, during the gameplay you can hear the sounds of nature. Survivalcraft 2 was not released in Russian. In the vastness of the network, there are crackers.

On mobile devices, the control is many times better than on a computer. Also, the mobile version of Survivalcraft 2 supports the game over the network for up to 4 people. At the same time, the screen is divided into 4 zones, which is inconvenient on smartphones with a small display.

The project is being developed by Candy Rufus Games studio from Great Britain. Download the game Survivalcraft 2 is offered on iOS, Android and Windows 10. The first two versions will cost 229 rubles. On PC, the project is distributed as a demo, limited to one in-game day, after which you will be asked to buy access to all content.
