The plot of the game is quite fascinating. An ancient prophecy comes true and portals open throughout Cyrodiil, from which all kinds of monsters break out, terrifying the population. The player’s task is to bring out the culprits, in this case it is Mehrunes Dagon – a powerful sorcerer who worships a demonic cult, closing the portals encountered along the way, or, as they are called, Oblivion’s plans.

We should also highlight the quest component of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Boring tasks like “kill 20 rats, bring their skins” play a secondary role here. The player is offered complete freedom of action. Once in the Imperial City, the main plot task is forgotten in a couple of minutes. After all, the usual request to talk to a dishonest seller turns into a full-fledged adventure with espionage and surveillance. And there are a lot of such tasks in Oblivion.

Improving skills in the game directly depends on the actions of the player. The choice of class at the beginning only affects the initial passage of the game. The further the player is brought into various distant locations, the more skills the character begins to use, the more powerful he becomes.

In addition to the main passage, players will not be left out of secondary actions. There are no boundaries in Oblivion. Is it due to the mechanics of the game. Having bought a house, it becomes possible to equip it.

The coming night, willy-nilly, suggests the idea of ​​robbery of absolutely any building. If only the skill is enough. The Mages Guild allows you to create a completely unique spell, or enchant any thing, you just have to go through a chain of interesting quests and solve the mystery that hitherto reigned in the guild.

There are two full-blown official expansions for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion:

• Knights of the Nine – the add-on adds to the game a chain of quests to find the Order of the Knights of the Nine. Players will have to learn the history of the order, and, subsequently, restore it, while becoming a knight of the Order of the Nine.
• Shivering Isles – this expansion introduces the player to one of the princes of Deirdre – Sheogorath. At the first meeting with him, one gets the impression that he is not entirely in friendship with himself, but the first impression is deceiving. A portal is added to the map to the mysterious islands – the possession of Sheogorath. In fact, this is a full-scale add-on – a kind of continuation of the game with its own quests and locations.
