Description

Metro Exodus Gold Edition is the third installment in a first-person shooter series that tells the story of survivors of a nuclear war. The scene has moved from a cramped subway to open locations. The player is forced to travel from Moscow across the whole of Russia, as well as touch the near abroad.

Due to such a change in mechanics and a new approach, the shooter has lost the number 3 in the title. Developers from 4A Games have released an extended version with nice bonuses for players. Find out below what is included in the Metro Exodus Gold Edition.

The original game continues the story of the main character of the previous parts – Artyom. He constantly explores the surface of the city, although his friends and associates do not share interests – they prefer to stay on the subway. However, gradually Artem is making his dream come true. Together with his team, he embarks on a long train journey across Russia. Heroes have to spend a lot of time in tight spaces. Because of this, the player is constantly faced with funny situations, observes the development of relations between the characters, becomes attached to them.

During the trip, Artyom will be forced to stop the train in various regions – desert Kazakhstan, Baikal, winter Novosibirsk, and so on. In each zone, you will get acquainted with the locals, their problems, unique nature and monsters. Although the scene is not the subway, the mechanics and gameplay remain the same. A Metro Exodus Gold Edition review would not have been complete without praise for the shooting and weaponry. By the way, all the good decisions and gameplay went into the first DLC. The addition differs from the main game only in locations, characters and plot.

Add-ons

Instead of releasing various weapons, costumes and other little things, the developers will delight fans with two fairly large additions at once. They are radically different from each other:

  • Two colonels. Story campaign in the style of the first parts of the Metro series.
  • Sam’s Story. An open-ended mission in the spirit of the main Exodus storyline.

Two Colonels in Metro Exodus Gold Edition

For now, players can check out the first expansion pack from the Season Pass – Two Colonels. In this campaign, the story returns to the subway again and tells about the already familiar Colonel Khlebnikov. From the plot, you can learn that it has become more difficult to survive in the subway, since the state of affairs has greatly deteriorated – the monsters have ceased to be afraid of survivors, the stocks of people are running out, it has become much easier to become infected with radiation sickness. If you already own Metro Exodus Gold Edition, all you have to do is download the DLC and enjoy the familiar metro atmosphere!

Sam’s story in Metro Exodus Gold Edition

The second expansion, titled “Sam’s Story”, will be released in 2020. In the DLC, the player finds himself in a location based on Vladivostok. Former Marine Sam, who accompanied Artem in the original game, separates from Aurora and continues the journey on his own. He is brought to the Far East, where you need to apply all the survival skills to get to the goal.

Helpful Hints

If you are just starting to get acquainted with the game Metro Exodus Gold Edition, then read some useful recommendations about passing Metro Exodus:

  • Don’t neglect side quests. Completing them will earn you more resources and ammo.
  • Be sure to search all enemies. The ammunition load may end at any time during the firefight.
  • Do not rush to upgrade any weapon. Some attachments will not work with another assault rifle or shotgun.
  • Before each mission, clean your weapons, gas mask, equipment. Not all missions contain special workbenches.
  • Inspect the location with binoculars from tall buildings. This will provide information on points of interest.

And, finally, if you want to pass the game for a positive ending, then try to kill the minimum number of enemies. A similar system is found in all Metro games.

What’s in the Gold Edition?

The Gold Edition for Metro Exodus shooter includes only two components:

  • original game that can be purchased separately in the standard edition;
  • Season Pass that includes access to add-ons.

What else is the difference between Metro Exodus Gold Edition and the regular version? Unfortunately, there is no longer any difference between the two editions. If you purchased a standalone game, you will be able to purchase additional DLC for the shooter as they are released. The Gold Edition can only be purchased digitally. The developers themselves have notified fans of the shooter that two major story DLCs will be added to the Expansion Pass. One of them has already been released, and the second is just getting ready for release. Therefore, it will take the player much longer to complete Metro Exodus Gold Edition than in the case of the regular version.

Metro Exodus Gold Edition System Requirements

To the delight of gamers, the system requirements for add-ons from Metro Exodus Gold Edition are no different from the original game. To run the game on the minimum graphics settings, you need approximately the following PC configuration:

  • 4-core Core i5-4440 or AMD equivalent;
  • Graphics card of GeForce GTX 670 level or higher;
  • RAM from 8 GB.

And if you want to enjoy all the beauties of locations, weapons and effects in Full HD resolution, then you need the following computer:

  • Intel Core i7-8700 processor or better;
  • GTX 1080 or AMD equivalent;
  • At least 16 GB of RAM.

Metro Exodus Gold Edition is an extended version of the original, which opens access for one released and upcoming expansion. If you have already completed the main part, then the DLC will be a great reason to return both to the subway and to open locations.
