The best browser for finding information

In the information age, knowledge has become very important. More and more information is required to solve easy and difficult problems. Most of the information can be found on the Internet, and it is searched for in web browsers.

However, among the large number of browsers, it is difficult for the user to decide on the choice of the right one. In this project, the goal of identifying the best browser for the selected ones will be achieved:

  • Popularity
  • Performance
  • User friendliness

At the moment, the most popular and well-known web browsers are:

Popularity

  • Google Chrome – 68.47%
  • Yandex Browser – 7.56%
  • Mozilla Firefox- 8.72%
  • Internet Explorer – 6.14%
  • Opera – 1.41%

According to the previous table, we observe that the most popular browser is Google Chrome. It occupies more than half of the market among web browsers, which is not surprising, since google (One of the most expensive companies in the world) has been actively updating and distributing not only its browsers, but also its services.

Mozilla Firefox ranks 2nd in popularity among this list. It is a browser with a high level of comfort and functionality. The main reasons for the popularity of Mozilla Firefox are the user-friendliness of the interface, high security and speed of work, as well as the flexibility of settings that allows this browser to meet the needs of the vast majority of people.

Internet Explorer is initially installed in the windows operating system, which is already very popular, so the web browser itself is very well known, but despite its popularity, few people use it, in particular due to the popularity of other web browsers and the lack of frequent updates.

Opera is the last in the top of the popularity of web browsers, although the browser is updated, has a convenient design and functionality, it is young and not as well distributed as its competitors have already done.

Yandex ranks 3rd in popularity, and the reason for this is its great focus on Russia. They, like google, began to distribute their browsers and services, but more in the Russian segment. Yandex users liked the quality of the project and the focus on the Russian user, so the browser found great popularity among the Russian population. However, he did not find popularity all over the world.

Performance

Browser – Memory (MB)

  • Google Chrome – 2030
  • Yandex Browser – 1978
  • Mozilla Firefox – 1154
  • Internet Explorer – 1767
  • Opera – 1312

In this situation, Firefox loads the computer least of all, followed by Opera. This is due to their very good optimization. These browsers should be installed on low-power PCs.

The last three browsers “use” much more RAM than the previous leaders. Google Chrome stands out the most, which requires almost 2 times more RAM than Firefox. This consequence is the reason for the Chromium engine, which, even in the early stages of the creation of Chrome, required a lot of computer resources.

For the same reason, Yandex Browser “eats” so much RAM, because it is also based on the Chromium engine and its behavior is not much different from Chrome.

Internet Explorer is currently an outdated browser based on the old Trident engine. Although Microsoft tried to improve the engine, but this did not lead to the desired result, which resulted in a huge consumption of computer resources. It got to the point that in windows 10 internet explorer was replaced by the new microsoft edge browser, even though it is still present on the computer.

User friendly interface

Of course, each person has their own tastes and preferences, but the main points can be distinguished:

Yandex and Opera stand out for their large number of icons and functions right on the start page. Their designs are modern and fresh. You can get a lot of information at once (Scoreboard, downloads, bookmarks, etc.)

Someone does not like all this “workload”, and someone cannot live without it. As a result, these browsers keep the modern bar and keep this level further.

Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer are more minimalistic than previous browsers. They look simple and modern at the same time (Even Internet Explorer). They are not an eyesore. Everything is discreet and neat. Again, for some it is inconvenient, ugly, while others like it. Simplicity and focus on new users is what sets them apart from the rest of the browsers.

TOTAL

As a result, it turns out that Firefox and Google Chrome are gaining more points. Quite to be expected, since they are the main ones around the world, but this does not mean that other browsers are bad, because they scored quite a few points. Each of them is unique in its own way. Perhaps another browser is right for you (because you just love the way it looks). But in the end, it is Firefox and Google Chrome that break out into the leaders.
