K-Lite Codec Pack for Windows

The K-Lite Codec Pack contains free tools to empower multimedia players on Windows computers. It includes utilities for processing audio and video files.

Installation

Downloading video codecs K-Lite Codec Pack on PC contains 2 details:

• The initial window of the installer offers a regular and advanced installation. The first one prompts you to choose your preferred video and audio player. The second opens the audio and video decoder add-ons.
• If there is no media player on the computer, the K-Lite Codec Pack will offer a standard 64-bit player – MPC-HC. Installation speed depends on the processor power, the amount of RAM and the drive format.

Setting

After the first launch, another method is implemented how to configure the K-Lite Codec Pack:

• Launch the program player;
• Open the “View” – “Settings” tab.

7 items appear:

1. Player – supported formats, key assignments, logo (title bar image), web interface, shaders.
2. Playback – audio volume, left / right balance, DVD / OGM, media output, full screen, Sync Render setting, capture.
3. Built-in filters – audio switcher, audio render, external subtitles.
4. Subtitles – style, additional changes.
5. Optional – jump distance in ms, quick cues on the slider, location of the playback time.
6. Miscellaneous – controls brightness, contrast, hue, saturation.
7. Advanced – advanced settings. Users will need knowledge of the program architecture. Having changed the settings, beginners may be left without a working player.
