Mozilla Thunderbird for Windows

Mozilla Thunderbird is a cross-platform email, newsfeed, blog and chat program. The software supports the creation of a calendar that works like an organizer.

The Mozilla Thunderbird client mail was released in the summer of 2003. The latest version is dated June 20, 2019. The software runs on Windows, MacOS and Linux. The functionality of the versions is identical regardless of the OS used.

Key features of the program:

• Intuitive interface with flexible settings for displaying tabs, removing buttons in the interface panel, layouts of functional windows.
• Messages written in the client take up 5 times less space than text typed in Outlook Express. The font of the letters adjusts to the preference of the recipient, not the sender. Emojis take the form of HTML tags without being filled with SMS graphics.
• The mail client can store mail from several addresses in one or separate folders. Automatically detects promotional emails and sends them for user review.
• The Mozilla Thunderbird profile is protected by verification of sent certificates, processing digital signatures, encrypting messages.
• Extend the functionality of the program by installing modules, change the background theme.
• The client’s encoding is compatible with all mailboxes, the sent messages are received in their original form, without text distortion.

Configuring Thunderbird

Mozilla Thunderbird setup begins during the installation phase:

• Select the standard (automatic) or custom installation type.
• In the request for integration with the system, the program suggests making it the default mail client. Uncheck this box if you do not want to accept the changes.
• In the Mozilla Thunderbird Mail Settings window, enter the active address of any service (Yandex, Google, Mail.ru). The program offers to create a new address through gandi.net for a fee.
• Mozilla Thunderbird will sync with the specified address.

Once you have access to Thunderbird, open the attachments in the More tab – three horizontal dashes at the top right, in front of the Events window. Select “Settings”:

• General – start page address, default search engine, display of new posts.
• Display – change the size, color and style of the font. Transformation of the priority of labels. Changes to reading rules (when to mark as read, where to open an email).
• Composing – email forwarding, HTML corrections, auto-complete emails in Mozilla Thunderbird, spell check on / off.

Mozilla Thunderbird is an email client that can completely replace Outlook Express. Its advantage is its free base with the ability to download third-party modules to increase functionality. Of the minuses, only the creation of a new mail for money is noted.
