Total War: ATTILA is not just a global addition to the previously released Rome 2, as was the case with Rome: Barbarian invasion. This is a completely independent part of the famous Total War series, which has many quality improvements and improvements.

But the main essence still remains unchanged here – take control of the state and, with the help of competent management, dexterous diplomatic moves and military victories, lead it to power and prosperity. But who to become – the leader of a barbarian tribe striving to build his new kingdom on the bones of the old empire, or the Roman emperor, struggling to preserve the greatness of the empire – is up to the player to decide.

The main campaign gives us the opportunity to play as 29 different peoples, many of which become available for play with the purchase of add-ons.

At the start of the campaign, vast territories were controlled by the Western and Eastern Roman Empire. However, such an alignment of forces will not last long – a huge stream of migrating tribes will flood their lands. Players who decide to take the helm of the empire at such a difficult hour for her will have a difficult time. This is especially true of the Western part – the lack of resources simply will not allow us to do without territorial losses. The Eastern emperor will have to solve the problem much easier – the economy is much more powerful than that of its neighbor, the smaller size of the state, which allows for more effective defense, and far from such a large concentration of migrating peoples at the borders.

A global cooling also makes its own adjustments to the Total War: ATTILA game – as the climate worsens, fertility decreases, which forces the peoples to make their way to the rich lands of Italy, Spain and Asia Minor. Therefore, playing for the migrating factions, it is very profitable to settle somewhere in these lands.

Two big additions to Total War are also worth mentioning: ATTILA – The Last Roman and the Age of Charlemagne. The first of them takes us during the reign of the Byzantine emperor Justinian, eager to return the lost western lands to the empire. For this purpose, the expedition of the talented commander Flavius ​​Belisarius is equipped. Whether to support the emperor in his quest, or to help the young barbarian kingdoms hold the lands – the choice lies entirely with the player. Likewise, in the second of the additions – you can stand at the origins of the creation of the Empire of Charlemagne, or try to unite England under the rule of one of the Saxon kingdoms, or lead the Christian resistance to the Muslims who seized Spain – everything depends entirely on the player’s decision.
